I v. The Empire

In the Social Contract Theory, I am considered to have the value of forming and executing "consent". In some forms of land title / ownership logic, this may, also, be compared to the "Allodial" theory of paramount "ownership". Aboriginal indigenous Peoples would refer to "ownership" as being "stewardship".
Most socio-political observations refer to human "ownership" activities as being rooted within an innate manifest destiny of the human ego to possess "more" than our neighbour.  Hence, within "binary" concepts - as with the converging antithesis of "good" versus "evil" - there shall be "allodial" versus "empiricalism".

And, therein, we have the struggle of "life against death".
